Founder’s Story

Jerri Jones

I was adopted as a baby and raised in a loving, stable home. From an early age, I understood that stability and opportunity are often the result of someone choosing to step in.

That understanding later guided me to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), where I supported a young person navigating the foster care system. I later opened my home to a teenager approaching adulthood without permanent family support. Through those experiences, I saw something that isn’t often discussed: stepping into adulthood requires more than readiness on paper. It requires preparation, resources, and the dignity of being equipped for what comes next.

In many ways, I knew — it could have been me.

The Bridge Forward Project was created from that realization. Each household starter kit represents more than supplies. It represents stability, dignity, and a community choosing to show up.

As a military veteran and with over 20 years of federal financial management experience, I understand the importance of accountability and strong systems. I hold a Master’s in Public Administration with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management, and together with a strong and engaged Board of Directors, I’m committed to building The Bridge Forward Project on a foundation of sound governance, transparency, and sustainable impact.
